Future of Emergency Response in Action
August 6 @ 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Come see the future of emergency response in action! The James City County Fire and Police Departments, in partnership with Duke Health and VCU, are conducting an American Heart Association-funded research study to evaluate whether drones can improve emergency response during suspected cardiac arrest, particularly in rural areas.
When a cardiac arrest is reported, a drone carrying an automated external defibrillator (AED) may be dispatched alongside first responders, increasing the likelihood that bystanders begin treatment before emergency personnel arrive.
Come out to see the drone in action, learn about the research study, and receive free hands-only CPR and AED education.
