Visitors can take a guided walk through the Historic Area to explore where enslaved and free Black Virginians lived, worked, learned, and worshipped. Along the way, they’ll encounter people from the past, follow in their footsteps, and experience the colonial capital through their perspectives. The tour examines the evolution of slavery, Virginia’s role as a slave society, and what the movement for independence meant to the people of Williamsburg. Colonial Williamsburg admission is required. On Juneteenth (June 19) you can get free admission to Colonial Williamsburg. For more information, see here.
