Audiences are invited into a mesmerizing performance-lecture with artist and magician Jeanette Andrews, where interactive magic, live-drawn overhead projections, and thoughtful conversation come together to explore how and why we perceive—and believe. Blending elegant everyday objects with masterful sleight of hand, Andrews creates surreal, interactive performance vignettes that challenge perception and invite viewers to question the nature of reality. The experience combines immersive magic with a fascinating look at the scientific, social, and philosophical foundations of belief in the seemingly impossible.
Hailed as one of the most innovative illusionists working today, Jeanette Andrews bridges illusion, conceptual art, and multisensory performance to create live “thought experiments” audiences help co-create. Her work has been featured with institutions such as the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Boca Raton Museum of Art, and the Quebec City Biennial, along with residencies at the Institute for Art and Olfaction and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center for the Arts. She has also been affiliated with the National Arts Club, metaLAB at Harvard, MIT Center for Art, Science and Technology, and is the current Visiting Artist for the Arts Institute at Brown University.
