Suffs: The Musical

Students from Jamestown, Lafayette and Warhill present the first WJCC All District Musical.
The students from all three high schools have been working producing Suffs: The Musical. We are one of 12 pilot productions of the show for high schools. The show is a Tony Award winning show and we are using the Broadway script and score to provide feedback to Musical Theatre International and the writers before they open it up to all high schools. Being selected to produce a pilot is a great honor for our schools and community.
Suffs: The Musical is about the women’s suffrage movement in the United States. Suffs is a dramatic retelling of the journey of several real Americans like Alice Paul, Ida B. Wells, Mary Church Terrell, and Carrie Chapman Catt. It’s lovely to share some history with the students and our audiences, just as we celebrate and reflect on the United States of America’s 250th Anniversary!
