Peter & The Starcatcher – Williamsburg Players

This musical will play live presented by the Williamsburg Players at 200 Hubbard Lane, Williamsburg VA. Not familiar with the story? Here is the skinny: In this hilarious Peter Pan origin story, an orphan and his mates are shipped from Victorian England to a distant island ruled by evil King Zarboff. They are unaware of the mysterious trunk stashed away in the captain’s cabin. Saturdays in June from 8 am to noon – Yorktown Market Days Farmers Market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.* through the end of October (except May 6 & Oct. 7). Be on the lookout for several extended markets with fun family-friendly themes, especially during the holidays! *Unless otherwise indicated It is a one-stop shop for seasonal produce; farm meats and seafood; fresh poultry and eggs; artisan bread and made-from-scratch desserts; honey, jams, and sauces; flowers, plants, and herbs; coffee, tea, fresh-pressed juices, and wine; unique local art; and even gourmet dog treats! Saturday, June 1 from 9 am to 11 am – The Heritage Humane Society and James City County Parks & Rec want pet lovers to get active with their pets! Start at Greensprings Interpretive Trail for a self-guided adventure of the trails! They will have music, a trail scavenger hunt, & adoptable dogs, Dogs must be leashed and under owners’ control. Don’t have a dog to walk the trails with? You can still come out to support the shelter and enjoy a beautiful day on the trails! More info


VIMS Marine Science Day

Saturday, June 1 from 10 am – 3 pm – VIMS Marine Science Day is fun and educational for all ages. Visitors can examine high-tech science equipment, tour a laboratory, collect and observe aquatic animals in the York River, and discover the importance of wetlands in VIMS’ Teaching Marsh. A costume contest, cooking demonstration, mini-lectures, and hands-on activities take place throughout the day Advanced registration is encouraged! More info


Fort Pocahontas 160th Annual Reenactment

Saturday, June 1 from 10am to 4pm & Sunday, June 2 from 10am to 3pm – Spectators are invited to tour the fort where the art of field fortification is revealed and to visit the bustling camps inside it for family-friendly living history activities throughout the day. Battle reenactments take place in the afternoon. Food vendor on site. All proceeds support the preservation efforts at Fort Pocahontas. More Info

Thursday, June 6 from 6:30-9 p.m. – Sounds of Summer Concerts kicks off this Thursday! Summer in Yorktown wouldn’t be summer without the sound of live music and dancing feet on the Riverwalk Landing every Thursday night. This annual outdoor concert series is free and open to the public and runs from June through August. 4th annual FURever Homes 8k, 5k, and Pet Run

Saturday, June 15 from 7 am – 11:00 am at Jamestown High School. The annual FURever Homes 8k, 5k, and Pet Run supports local homeless pets in need will be held on Saturday, June 10. This event is for runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels. There will be an 8k, 5k, and 1-mile run/walk. All proceeds from the event will benefit Heritage Humane Society. More info
