“Sunday Supper” Brunch

King’s Arms Tavern
Sunday, September, 27
12 pm – 2 pm

Sunday Supper Brunch at King’s Arms Tavern featuring Gowan Pamphlet celebrates the rich legacy of African and Caribbean culinary traditions and their lasting influence on both colonial and modern American cuisine. Enjoy a thoughtfully crafted 3-course prix-fixe brunch by Chefs Steve Perkins and Ivey Boyd, inspired by the recipes and ingenuity of the enslaved cooks who shaped the dining tables of America’s Founding Fathers.

While dining, guests will also hear the powerful story of Gowan Pamphlet—once enslaved in Mrs. Vobe’s household and later entrusted with managing affairs at the original King’s Arms Tavern. His voice and journey help illuminate the deep and often untold history behind the food we serve and the people who prepared it.

  • Sunday Supper Brunch Menu
Black Eye Pea Fritter and Pan Seared Scallop with pickled apple
  • Stuffed Chicken Breast – Chesapeake Crab and VA ham, honey mustard cream sauce, jollof rice
