York County Veteran’s Day Ceremony
Tuesday, November 11, 2025 from 12 pm – 1 pm
The public is invited to the annual Veteran’s Day program in York Hall. Sponsored by the York County Historical Committee, the ceremony honors the members of our armed forces.
This year’s theme, “Virginia’s Medal of Honor Recipients,” pays tribute to the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of Virginians who have received the nation’s highest military honor.
Throughout the ceremony, guests will learn about several of these remarkable heroes through stories and photographs, shining a light on their service and dedication. The program will also feature the tolling of the bell, presentation of the colors, singing of the National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, and “Taps.” All veterans in attendance will receive special recognition for their service to our country.
Participants in this year’s program include members of the York High School NJROTC, the Comte de Grasse Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Moore House Society, Children of the American Revolution, and Chapter 13 of the Disabled American Veterans. Dr. Edward Boston will offer the Invocation and Benediction, while the Veterans of Foreign Wars Chapter 824 will serve as the Color Guard.
