Mad Science of Hampton Roads offer summer camps that keep kids engaged and learning during the break. Camps are designed for kids that are rising 1st – 6th graders. These are week long, half day camps.
Mad Science of Hampton Roads is offering 5 exciting summer camp themes!
- NASA Journey into Outer Space – This hands-on program brings them closer to the stars, planets, comets, and more. They learn about living in space, getting away from gravity, looking for space phenomena, and they participate in a rocket launch!
- Guts, Goo, & Gross Science – Use your skills as a creepy chemist to make your own radically gross reactions! Compare fingerprints and discover the mysteries of DNA. Make “brain goo” and get into your “guts” with an introduction to the body systems. Discover cool and yucky chemical reactions in this hands-on adventure!
- Crazy Chemworks – This week of chemistry is packed solid with cool reactions. Campers work to change liquids to solid and back again. They get to handle laboratory tools, build and break molecules, and pick up some tricks on chemical changes.
- BRIXOLOGY – Let the tinkering begin! Campers will get hands-on with LEGO® bricks to construct various projects. From assembling a space station to building boats and vehicles, campers will explore the many facets of engineering. Each day features a take-home project your camper can use at home with other LEGO® sets.
- Secret Agent Lab – Focus on the science of forensics in this hands-on look at crime scenes. Identify and collect evidence, from fingerprints to tracks to trash! Become a super sleuth and learn some of the clever tricks that spies use! Bring home items every day including the Fingerprint Finder, Secret Code Breaker, Spyglasses & more!
