The Williamsburg Pipes & Drums

Williamsburg Pipes and Drums has been a part of the Williamsburg community since 1968. Our goal is to promote, teach, and perform Scottish music on the highland bagpipes and drums.

The band welcomes experienced pipers and drummers at any time, and gives lessons to beginners.

Our band plays at public ceremonies and private events around the State of Virginia, and competes at sanctioned events of EUSPBA in Grade V. The band is for hire; either the whole band or solo pipers for events.

The official tartan is the Ancient Murray of Atholl tartan in honor of the departure of the last Royal Governor of the Colony of Virginia. Call it a spoil of war. Our crest honors our Scots ancestors who immigrated to Virginia and led the way to independence.

Musical leadership is provided by Pipe Major Jim Ryan.  New students are taught by experienced band pipers and drummers.

To inquire about joining, lessons, performances, or hiring the band go to Williamsburg Pipes and Drums.

The band is a 501c3 organization.
