FREE and Open to the Public Weekend of Events – Celebrate with the Grand Opening at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 25 as they cut the ribbon and mark the grand opening of the Colin G. and Nancy N. Campbell Archaeology Center.

  • 9:00 AM:  Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Be there for the official grand opening!
  • 10:00 AM: Campbell Archaeology Center, Unlocked – Take a self-guided tour behind the scenes.
  • 10:00 AM:  Passing the Trowel – A century of archaeology talk at Hennage Auditorium.
  • 10:00 AM & 2:00 PM:  Discovery Lab – Hands-on activities for all ages!
  • 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM:  Archaeology Behind the Scenes – Guided lab tours (Space is limited!).
  • 2:00 PM: Excavation to Programming – A deep dive into Custis Square at Hennage Auditorium.
  • 5:00 PM:  Colonial Williamsburg from the Ground Up – Expert panel discussion.

  • 10:00 AM:  Piecing Together the Past – Archaeology and conservation in action at Hennage Auditorium.
