Created to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence, this powerful exhibition explores Virginia’s pivotal role in the American Revolution through remarkable artifacts and inspiring stories of both iconic and everyday people.
Included with museum admission, this new exhibition invites visitors to connect with the people, places, and ideas that forged a new nation—and continue to shape America today. 🇺🇸

Celebrate Christmastide in Virginia with festive traditions from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Enjoy caroling, music, fancy cooking, and interactive programs at both museums, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Christmas Day). At Jamestown Settlement, explore early Christmas customs, meet historical interpreters, visit Paspahegh Town and the 1607 ships, and see James Fort decorated for the season.
Step into the past and share some holiday cheer.

Step into the season with Christmastide in Virginia.
Families and friends are invited to experience centuries-old holiday traditions through festive programs, fancy cooking, caroling, and music. Explore immersive galleries and outdoor settings at both museums, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Christmas Day).
Visit a Continental Army encampment to hear stories of Christmas during the Revolutionary War, learn how soldiers cooked rations, and watch flintlock musket demonstrations. On the Revolution-era farm, discover 18th-century holiday traditions, open-hearth cooking, festive decorating, and hands-on activities like making traditional pomanders.
Enjoy festive holiday musical performances at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Christmastide in Virginia is included with museum admission.
