Set sail for an unforgettable waterfront weekend at the Sail Yorktown Festival, an official SailVirginia℠ 2026 Affiliate Harbor event!
From June 12–14, 2026, the York River becomes a stunning backdrop as majestic tall ships and military vessels arrive in Yorktown. Visitors can explore historic ships, enjoy lively entertainment, and experience hands-on history for all ages.
Featured Tall Ships include:
- Godspeed – A fully rigged merchant ship that made the historic 1606–1607 voyage from England to North America.
- Luna – An 18th-century colonial sloop replica operated by the Colonial Seaport Foundation.
- Picton Castle – A three-masted barque originally built in 1928 in Selby, Yorkshire.
- Alliance II – Historic Yorktown’s homeported schooner, offering a unique way to experience the river and local history.

Friday, June 12:
- 9–11:30 a.m. – Opening Ceremony & Parade of Sail at Riverwalk Landing and along the Yorktown waterfront
- 9 a.m.–5 p.m. – Living history exhibits, hourly military drills and firing demonstrations, Vendor Village, kids’ crafts and activities, and live entertainment
- 12–5 p.m. – Free tall ship and military deck tours
- 6:30–9 p.m. – Free concert at Riverwalk Landing
Saturday, June 13:
- 9 a.m.–5 p.m. – Free tall ship and military deck tours, living history exhibits, military demonstrations, Vendor Village, kids’ activities, and live entertainment
- 6:30–9 p.m. – Free concert at Riverwalk Landing
- 7:30–9 p.m. – Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra performance at the Victory Monument
Sunday, June 14:
- 9 a.m.–5 p.m. – Free tall ship and military deck tours, living history exhibits, military demonstrations, Vendor Village, kids’ activities, and live entertainment
