Grace Church Memorial Day Ceremony

There will be a ceremony followed by the playing of “Taps” and “Honors” and reading the names of the 103 known veterans from pre-Revolutionary War to Korea and Vietnam buried in the historic (ca 1697) cemetery. See number restrictions below – last updated 5/19/21

Due to current COVID-19 modifications, attendance will be limited to the first 50-75 people at this annual event, and church staff will screen participants per church requirements. Everyone is asked to wear a face covering during the ceremony, and outdoor areas will be marked out for social distancing. After the ceremony and playing of “Taps,” all attendees will participate in a hand salute (as appropriate for active duty military/veterans) or with reverence to the 103 known Veterans buried at historic Grace Episcopal Church (ca 1697) and all deceased men and women who have served our country in uniform. The historic Church Bell (ca 1725) will be tolled 21 times.
Following the ceremony, families, friends and visitors may visit the graves .
