Celebrate the American spirit with a concert that reflects the nation’s history, resilience, and the power of music to tell its story. Audiences will experience Peter Boyer’s American Mosaic, a newly commissioned work that weaves together music, striking images by photographer Joe Sohm, and the voices of America in a moving look at the past and future. The program concludes with William Dawson’s Negro Folk Symphony (1934), a stirring blend of African American spirituals and symphonic tradition that brings the season to a powerful close. A pre-concert talk will be held from 6:30 to 7 pm. This event is part of America’s 250th Anniversary celebration. For more information, see here.
